Rahway is a transit-oriented city located just 35-minutes by train outside of the New York metropolitan area. The city lies just to the west of the main section of the Rahway River and is part of Union County, which is home to approximately 550,000 residents. Rahway is home to the Union County Performing Arts Center as well as numerous contemporary art galleries and three professional recording studios. Founded in 1664, the city boasts a rich history, as well as 10 city parks, a fully renovated theatre and the annual Rahway International Film Festival. Rahway has recently undergone a major revitalization beginning in the early 1990s that has transformed the culture and identity of the city and expanded its arts and culinary options.
