In January 2014, Bridgeton purchased 3180 18th Street, a creative use office building constructed in 1902 in the heart of the Mission District of San Francisco. The building has undergone a complete state of the art, full building restoration, with spectacular tenant improvements installed throughout the property. Highly improved creative tenant spaces feature sandblasted wood columns and beams, a dramatic internal stairwell and high-end finishes throughout. The building also boasts a 22-stall secure parking lot with bicycle parking and outdoor patios providing unique gathering areas.
The property is occupied by a dynamic mix of technology firms, including Stripe Inc., a leader in the online payment processing space. Shortly after Bridgeton’s acquisition, Stripe raised $150 million in funding from prominent venture investors and started investigating viable spaces to move its headquarters. Bridgeton convinced Stripe not only to remain in its current space, but also to expand into the remainder of the building upon existing lease roll over. The building provided Stripe a truly innovative environment that would enhance its culture.
